So What does MBA stands form my point of view ?But before I answer that, I’ll do a bit of recap on the Mac Expo 2008 Infamous Steve Jobs Keynote, that is still going on while I wrote this :

1. Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac (Not too excited about this)
2. iPhone firmware Update 1.1.3 (happy hacking to try to unlocked this version too guys), and the announcement of iPhone SDK that will be launch in the end of 2008. Also a demo of some new app and feature of iPhone Firmware update (cool shacking item’s on home screen).The Funny thing is, there is also an update for iPod Touch, some app like Mail, maps, stocks, notes, and weather. But you got to pay $20 for it, while iPhone owner got their update freely (geezz..talk about discrimination)
3. iTunes Movie Rental. Wow I didn’t i think it would be that cool (look at the AppleTV interface to access it), but well this won’t work in Indonesia since we all are still “Fakir Bandwith”
4. Now this is the one I am talking about :DMBA that’s stands for “Mac Book Air” . Steve Jobs Explained that, Apple decided to follow Industry standard that is leaning towards sub notebook. So they created this little thinggy. Did I already said it’s small ? we’ll it’s damn small, where steve could put it inside an envelope. The MBA is armed with shrink version of Core 2 Duo (60% size reduction), and it has a multi touch track pad. And No super drive (sold separately).Ok, I am not going to explain about the full detail of the specs (you can see it your self tomorrow).

Only one thing that surprised me and pretty much bugs me. What?? No Mac Book or Mac Book Pro Update ? Geeezzz

“There is Something in the Air“  

Hmmmm…..Do you feel that? Yes, that’s right. The Mac World Expo Is just Around The Corner.In Fact, it’s going to start it’s first day from a 3 day run, in 7 minutes (i got my clock sync ok, so I can’t be wrong :P).

We’ll some of you might think WTF is Mac World .. (Whatever). Hmm What I can say to you is that, it’s only the biggest annual event that is hosted by Macworld (”THE” most widely read mac magazine), that is dedicated to Apple. In the expo people (most of em apple fan boy’s :D) gather to get a glimpse of “WHAT’S NEW” on Apple. And of course they certainly gather to watch Steve (No, not Steven Gerranrd) Jobs infamous Keynote.

If you are already an Apple fan boy on the last Mac World Expo, you would certainly remember how Mr.Jobs. shock’s us with the preview of iPhone. We’ll I got to admit I didn’t know a damn thing about it on that time, I have just converted to the light “The Way Of The Apple” on June (That’s when I got my brand new Mac Book Pro, “Noted, still on credit” :P”). But I saw the video on Youtube later on. From that keynote, you can see how people are so enthusiastic on this expo, because they are hoping and dreaming that Steve Jobs would invent the next new shining toy with apple logo on it.

We’ll, What I can say now is. I know what they feel. I am totally excited on this event. I want to know what will the “THE” next big thing Apple have in stored. Will it be as big as The iPhone? Is it The Mac Book Nano? Or The New Mac Book Pro?Well there is almost a gezilion people that is writing about there prediction for this’s year’s big thingy. Even TUAW and Apple Insider release their prediction version of it.For my version, I am thinking of a new Mac Book Pro, iPhone SDK announcement (and some preview on new iPhone application’s), and some other minor things like Leopard 10.5.2 update and iPhone firmware update 1.3, and yada..yada..yada. But not so sure about this gossip on Mac Book Nano.

So In the end of it all, I am in a bit of dilema here to be honest, I am really looking forward on this new gadgets. But in the same time, I know that I won’t have the money to get them All I can do is, drool in front of an Apple Store (hiks..). Just kidding, I really enjoy seeing cool things (especially Apple on this matter), so we don’t need to have it to enjoy it right?(hiks…)

Saya tidak tahu seberapa penting Terminal bagi orang-orang yang menggunakan OS X, tapi buat saya ini adalah applikasi yang selalu saya gunakan setiap hari. 

Hmmm, untuk anda yang sering menggunakan terminal, mungkin sering mengalami masalah yang saya hadapi setiap hari dimana anda sedang browsing file-file anda melalui finder, dan tiba2 ingin masuk terminal di lokasi finder window anda. Maka anda harus menavigasi lagi ke folder yang anda tuju di terminal (cd and cd lagi….huuuhh). Jika itu hal yang sering anda hadapi, mungkin anda bisa mencoba OpenTerminal.

Pada dasarnya OpenTerminal adalah Apple Script yang bisa membuka terminal di lokasi dimana apple script ini dijalankan.Yang harus anda lakukan untuk mensetup OpenTerminal adalah :

1. Download OpenTerminal 
2. Extract Archive OpenTerminal, dan drag ke finder bar anda.
3. Untuk pengguna, leopard anda dapat menggukan icon yang sesuai dengan scheme Leopard ini , lalu anda tinggal click kanan di app OpenTerminal dan pilih open archive. Lalu ganti file “Contents/Resources/droplet.icns” dengan file icon yang tadi.

Yup, mudah kan!!Sekarang jika anda ingin membuka terminal pada lokasi finder window anda, yang harus anda lakukan hanya lah meng- click icon OpenTerminal yang telah kita pasang tersebut.

Siapa coba yang sekarang ini gak tau makhluk ajaib ini?Apple iPhoneKayanya makhluk satu ini bener-bener bikin semua orang ngiler…Liat aja deep resolution nya, screen yang mengikuti arah kita memegang nya (vertikal/horizontal), effect2 fade in fade out nya….arggghh pengeeen.

Mungkin udah basi yah, topiknya soalnya udah gak sedikit orang di Indonesia yang udah punya nih barang (Unlocked of course). Tapi akhir2 ini saya denger gosip yang agak miring yang bilang bahwa iPhone akan keluar legally di Indonesia di akhir tahun 2007 ini….What??? Kaget?? Sama dong!!

Memang ini gosip masih belom terbukti kebenarannya, karena setiap saya googling gak ada tuh yang nyebut2 hal ini. Dan lagi, sekarang udah ampir akhir desember dan masih belom ada juga secercah harapan.Tapi yang harus kita liat disini, misal aja memang iPhone akan release di Indonesia akhir tahun 2007 atau awal 2008. Apakah iPhone di Indonesia akan di vendor lock, seperti AT&T di Amerika dan O2 di UK. Atau apakah iPhone akan di jual unlocked seperti di Prancis (walau memang lisensi di pegang oleh Orange).Yah, memang saya berharap sih akan di jual tanpa vendor lock. Tapi (mau berapa tapi sih… :P) apa bener tanpa vendor lock akan lebih menguntungkan buat kita ?? Karena Apple gak akan mungkin jual mau menjual iPhone Unlocked tanpa kompensasi tertentu. Seperti halnya di Prancis, iPhone unlocked dijual dengan harga premium dengan harga 999 Euro, what2??? parah kan berarti lebih mahal 600 Euro dibanding harga yang di vendor lock. Memang harga premium ini wajar karena, Apple tidak mungkin mau pasar iPhone di negara2 yang di vendor lock menjadi tergangu. Kalo jual dengan harga sama, pasti banyak terjadi penjualan keluar negara yang di tujukan, dan akhirnya menghancurkan pasar iPhone bundled with AT&T or O2.

Jadi sekarang pikir lagi?? mending vendor lock atau gak???Mending unlock sama murah kan?? Apalagi kalo ada yang mau ngasih !!!

Maybe we start on a wrong foot before. I know I haven’t been a good owner before. I haven’t updated you for a long time, I even havent opened you for a long time.

Don’t be sad, it’s not your fault. I am the one who wanted to make you a show off area for me, and I become really concern  about what I write, and what other people would think, and that leeds to a stressful thing for me to write on you. So, this is my way of saying I am sorry. I just want to say, let’s start over.I’ll try to be a better owner and take better care of you.
